Abdominoplasty focuses on tightening the skin around the stomach to create a flat, well-toned abdomen that many strive to achieve through regular exercise and a healthy diet.
For many reasons – which range from heredity to pregnancy – loose or sagging tissue develops around the abdomen causing a protruding area around the muscles. Abdominoplasty removes excess fat and skin around the stomach or restores weakened or separated muscles to create a smoother, firmer and tighter abdomen wall, resulting in a slimmer waistline.
Performed under a general anaesthetic, Dr. Harris takes a unique approach to the procedure that results in a shorter scar. Rather than creating an incision from hipbone to hipbone, his expertise enables him to use a shorter method. In addition, he uses a sutureless closer which not only creates a less noticeable mark, but also offers patients a microbial barrier that allows them to shower immediately following the procedure.
This procedure is often combined with additional treatments, such as liposuction (to remove localized fat deposits), a body lift or breast augmentation. These treatments can be performed in the same session upon discretion of the doctor.
