Hyperhidrosis Treatment
Excess sweating can be an uncomfortable, often embarrassing condition that may result in a loss of self-confidence. Known as hyperhidrosis, this medical condition causes uncontrollable increased sweating of the body, in excess of the normal amount required for body temperature regulation. Botox® treatments can be used to combat hyperhidrosis, and is most often covered by private health care plans.
The Approach
Botox® is injected into specific areas to treat hyperhidrosis. The simple procedure works to stop the signal to the sweat glands that cause excess sweating. Dramatic results can be seen in a few days and can last up to seven months. Patients will work with Dr. Harris and the nurse injector Angie, to determine if more than one treatment is necessary.
