Mastopexy (Breast Lift)

A mastopexy, more commonly known as a breast lift, works to restore the shape and firmness of the breasts. Through age, a woman’s breasts lose their elasticity, firmness or shape, often as a result of weight loss, pregnancy or breast-feeding.

A breast lift works by removing excess skin while tightening the surrounding tissues to reshape and restore the breasts to a more youthful appearance and firmness.

The Approach

This procedure is performed as a day surgery in our fully accredited plastic surgery clinic, under a general anesthetic. Dr. Harris uses a sutureless closure to ensure a less noticeable scar, which also offers a microbial barrier that allows patients to shower immediately following a procedure.

Other Treatment Options

Breast implants can be done in conjunction with a lift to restore the lost volume. An areola (the dark skin surrounding the nipple) reduction may also be performed as well to create a proportionate breast.
